I first saw the National Crafts Museum on Instagram reels, and honestly, I was super fascinated and knew I had to visit!
And when I finally went, it immediately became my favorite place in Delhi. I literally suggest this spot to all my favorite people because it’s just that amazing.

Every corner is full of vibrant traditional crafts, colors, and culture, it’s like stepping into a live celebration of India’s heritage!

                                                                Traditional Handicrafts

Path to painting and pottery workshop

The museum is a paradise for handicraft lovers! There are several stalls where you can see:

Paintings and artwork from different states

Traditional handmade clothing showcasing India’s diverse styles

Pottery workshops, where you can actually try making your own piece!

Every craft is unique and full of life. You can’t help but admire the skill and creativity of the artisans.

                                                               Artisan and Indian Villages Section

One of the most fun parts is the dedicated Indian villages section:

Each state has its own mini village display showing how homes and life look in that region.

You literally walk through India, village by village!

my most favorite was Himachal Pradesh, the houses and setup looked so cozy and authentic, I could've spent hours exploring it

Watching the artisans at work is another highlight: weaving, pottery, and live craft demos make you feel like you’re part of a real-life culture show. I was completely mesmerized thinking, “How do they do this so perfectly?!” 😅

Cultural Experience

The museum isn’t just about exhibit.

it’s a full-on experience!

Walking through the halls, you feel surrounded by India’s vibrant culture. Every corner has something to admire, from colorful textiles to sparkling jewelry and unique artifacts.

What I loved the most was how interactive it felt, some displays make you feel like you’re part of the culture, not just a visitor. You can pause, observe, and really soak in the traditions and stories behind each piece.

It’s one of those places where time just flies by because every room has something exciting to discover.
